GBP participates at Advantage Assam 2.0 – Investment and Infrastructure Summit 2025 on 25th February, 2025
A panel discussion on “Biomanufacturing and Biofoundries: Leveraging BioE3 policy for Assam’s roadmap” was held at Dhansiri hall on 25th February, 2025 during the summit.
Science Technology and Climate Change Department, Government of Assam has also signed 13 numbers of MoUs with different prospective investors in presence of Shri Keshab Mahanta, Honorable Minister, Science Technology and Climate Change Department, GoA; Shri Pallav Gopal Jha, IAS, Secretary,Science Technology and Climate Change Department, GoA; Dr Jaideep Baruah, Director, ASTEC, Shri Deba Kr. Mishra, CEO, GBP and other dignitaries. during the event.
GBP also signed and exchanged MoU with Assam Start up-the Nest, Department Of Industries & Commerce, GoA, in presence of Shri Pijush hazarika, Honorable Minister, Water Resources, Information & Public Relations , Social Justice & Empowerment, GoA, Shri Rakesh Kr Thakur, Administrator, GBP and other GBP officials.
GBP at International Biomanufacturing Summit 2025
We were thrilled to participate in the International Biomanufacturing Summit 2025, held on 10th-11th January 2025, jointly organized by NEISED and Gauhati University, where GBP proudly served as an organizing partner.
This impactful summit brought together global industry leaders, policy experts, and entrepreneurs to explore opportunities and tackle challenges in establishing bio-manufacturing industries and startups in Northeast India.
We were truly honored to host Dr. Alka Sharma, Senior Advisor, DBT, GoI, and Dr. Amit Kr. Tripathi, Scientist D, Health and Wellness, DBT, at GBP on 10th January 2025. The distinguished guests were warmly received by Shri Deba Kr. Mishra, ACS, CEO, GBP, Shri Rakesh Kr. Thakur, ACS, Administrator, GBP, and the entire GBP team.
In her inspiring address, Dr. Alka Sharma shared valuable insights and actionable suggestions to nurture and empower entrepreneurship in the North Eastern Region (NER). The brainstorming session with the DBT officials, GBP team, and regional entrepreneurs was both impactful and enlightening.
Inauguration of Biofloc & Laboratory Facility of BICFA at Guwahati Biotech Park
We were honored to welcome Shri Sagar Mehra, Joint Secretary (Inland Fisheries and Administration), Ministry of Fisheries, Government of India, as the Chief Guest to inaugurate the Biofloc set up and Laboratory Facility of the Business Incubation Centre in Fisheries and Aquaculture (BICFA), Guwahati Biotech Park, marking a significant step towards advancing the fisheries and aquaculture sector in the region. The ceremony also featured: Unveiling of the BICFA Calendar and Launch of the Training Manual on Ornamental Fish Farming & Aquarium Setup. This was followed by a vibrant interactive session where distinguished guests, including experts from IITG, AAU, EDII, NECTAR, NRDC, ICCO, Dept. of Fisheries (GoA), GU, along with fish farmers, startups, and entrepreneurs, shared ideas and discussed future opportunities.
Guwahati Biotech Park participated in the recently concluded IISF 2024 at IITG
Dr Bula Choudhury, Senior Scientist, Guwahati Biotech Park is invited for Fireside Talk under Innovation, Technology and Entrepreneurship-Mission Start-up on 30th November 2024, The session was Chaired by Dr Jitendra Kumar, MD, BIRAC. The discussion brought together startups, incubators, investors and ecosystem enablers.
Dr Choudhury was also invited for an interactive session with the young scientist on career and funding opportunities etc. in the session “Emerging Challenges of Society: Role of Nation Building organizations and Institutions in the Young Scientist Conclave, Chaired by Shri P A Vivekananda Pai, Secretary General, Vigyana Bharati on 3rd December 2024. Main emphasis was given during the session was to work on lab to land strategy along with research publications.

Exchange of MoU between IKP Knowledge Park, Genome valley, Telangana, and Guwahati Biotech Park
An MOU was signed on 29th April, 2024 between IKP Knowledge Park, Genome valley, Telangana, and Guwahati Biotech Park in presence of Smti Keerthi Jalli, IAS, CEO, GBP, Dr Deepanwita Chattopadhaya, CEO, IKP Knowledge Park, Dr. Sangita Sen Majee Head-Life Science Incubator, IKP Knowledge Park, Ms Anuradha Barua, Manager-Administration & Paralegal at IKP Knowledge Park, Ms. Harshada Wadkar, Technology Transfer, IP Commercialization, IKP Knowledge Park, Manish Kumar, RTTP Tech Transfer, IP & Legal Advisor, Patent Attorney and other officials and incubates of GBP.
We were honored to host Dr Deepanwita Chattopadhyay and her team from IKP at GBP as their visit certainly ignited the passion for invention and innovation to the incubates at GBP.We express our sincere gratitude towards the IKP team for their visit and collaborative spirit to nurture the growth of our startup ecosystem. Exchange of MoU between ADP College and Guwahati Biotech Park
We have signed a MoU with the Department of Herbal Science and Technology, Anandaram Dhekial Phookan College, Nagaon Assam on 21st May, 2024. The MoU was exchanged in presence of Dr Sadananda Payeng, Principal, ADP College, Dr Mousmi Saikia, Assistant Professor (HoD) and faculty members along with our representatives. This MoU will foster academic and research collaboration between our institutions and enable skill development and entrepreneurship opportunities for the students.

We have signed a MoU with the Department of Botany, Dakha Devi Rasiwasia College (D.D.R. College), Chabua, Dibrugarh, Assam. This collaboration, formalized on June 7th, 2024, aims to foster academic and research partnerships, and provide skill development and entrepreneurship opportunities for students. The MoU was exchanged in the presence of Dr. Pradip Borah, Principal of D.D.R. College, and faculty members along with our representatives. We look forward to a fruitful and long-lasting partnership with DDR College, promoting biotechnology in the region.
